Saratoga, also known as the Australian Arowana, encompass two species found in Australia: the Gulf Saratoga (Scleropages jardini) and the Queensland Saratoga (Scleropages leichardti). Distinguished by their features, the Gulf Saratoga displays a bronze color with a curved dorsal profile and a sloping head, while the Queensland Saratoga exhibits a silver body without gill cover patterns. These fish thrive in spacious aquariums, primarily occupying the upper layers. Initially flighty, they become calmer as they mature, necessitating a secure lid due to their jumping tendencies.
Effective filtration and regular maintenance, including filter cleaning and water changes, are crucial, as Saratoga are sensitive to water pollutants.
