Redtail Shark (Epalzeorhynchos Bicolor)
The Redtail Shark, also known as the Redtail Black Shark, is a striking addition to a semi-aggressive community aquarium. Known for its jet black body and vibrant red tail, this species thrives in tanks with driftwood, rocks, and areas of dense vegetation.
Though peaceful when young, Redtail Sharks can become territorial and aggressive toward their own species as they mature, so it’s best to house them as the only shark in the tank, with tankmates of similar size.
While their breeding habits are not well-documented, they are easy to feed, accepting flake food, freeze-dried bloodworms, and tubifex, alongside vegetable-based foods.
