The Ocelot Goby, also known as the Tiger Goby, is a fascinating bottom-dwelling species native to Indonesia, Vietnam, and Thailand. They inhabit rivers and streams with brackish water and many hiding spots. With a tiger-like pattern, they closely resemble their bumblebee goby relatives.
These small fish may be shy at first, but once settled, they exhibit interesting territorial behaviors. Male gobies tend to claim areas in the tank but are only mildly aggressive towards other fish.
Feeding Ocelot Gobies can be a bit challenging since they prefer live or frozen food like brine shrimp and bloodworms, rejecting floating foods like flakes. They thrive in groups of 6-7 and are best kept with non-bottom-dwelling species to avoid competition for space.
