Delhezi Bichir (Polypterus delhezi)
The Delhezi Bichir, also known as the Armoured or Barred Bichir, is a prehistoric-looking, hardy, and highly sought-after species known for its striking banded pattern and dragon-like appearance. With its segmented armour plating and ability to breathe atmospheric air, it is a unique centrepiece fish for large aquariums. Best suited to experienced keepers, it requires spacious, well-filtered conditions and tank mates that are too large to be eaten.
