Chilly Red Endler (Poecilia wingei variant)
The Chilly Red Endler is a selectively bred color strain of Poecilia wingei, a close relative of the guppy originating from Venezuela. Endlers are known for their small size, vivid colors, and active nature, making them popular in both nano aquariums and community tanks. This strain displays striking red coloration with reflective highlights, standing out beautifully in planted setups.
Males are smaller and much more colorful, constantly displaying and chasing, while females are larger and less vividly colored. They are peaceful livebearers that thrive in groups and do best when kept with other gentle species.
In the aquarium, Endlers are highly adaptable, thriving in a wide range of conditions. They prefer a well-planted tank with plenty of swimming space, and as prolific livebearers, breeding is very straightforward. Females can store sperm and produce fry even without a male present.
