Apricot Paradise Fish

Macropodus opercularis — Apricot Variant

Overview

The Apricot Paradise Fish is a selectively bred colour variety of the classic Paradise Fish (Macropodus opercularis). This striking variant displays soft apricot, orange, and cream tones instead of the traditional blue and red striping. Hardy and adaptable, Paradise Fish are one of the earliest species kept in aquariums and are known for their labyrinth organ, allowing them to breathe atmospheric air.

While beautiful and full of personality, they can be territorial, especially males, making careful tankmate selection important.
